Frequently asked questions
Can I use Mast on multiple stores?
Mast is licensed per store. Each store requires a separate license purchased from the Shopify Theme Store. Bundled or agency pricing is not available through the Theme Store; contact us directly if you are installing Mast on multiple client stores.
Does Mast support Shopify Markets?
Yes. Mast works with Shopify Markets including language switchers, currency selectors, and regional pricing. The country/language selector can be enabled in the Header and Footer sections vía Theme settings.
Can I customize sections beyond the theme editor?
Yes. Mast is fully Shopify 2.0 compliant with clean, well-commented Liquid code and a comprehensive CSS custom property system. Developers can extend any section by editing its .liquid file in the sections/ folder. Custom CSS can also be added vía the Custom CSS field in Theme settings without modifying any theme files.
Does Mast support app blocks?
Yes. All relevant section schemas include app block support. Product pages support app blocks both above and below the add-to-cart form, giving app developers standard placement zones.
How do I update to a newer versión of Mast?
Updates are distributed through the Shopify Theme Store. You will be notified in your Themes admin when a new versión is available. Clicking Update installs the new versión as a duplicate of the current theme, preserving your settings. Review the changelog before updating to understand what changed.
Does Mast work with Shopify Markets for translated storefronts?
Yes. Mast uses Shopify's standard translation infrastructure. All merchant-facing strings (button labels, error messages, placeholder text) are defined in the theme's locale files and can be translated vía the Shopify Translate & Adapt app or manually in the locale JSON files.
Can I use a custom font not in the Shopify font library?
The theme editor's font picker is limited to Shopify's font library. To use a custom font, add the @font-face declaration and font files to the theme's assets/ folder and reference the font in the Custom CSS field in Theme settings using the appropriate CSS custom property, for example: :root { --font-heading: 'My Custom Font', serif; }
Do you offer custom development on top of Mast?

Is Mast compatible with Shopify's Online Store Editor themes?
Mast is designed exclusively for the Online Store 2.0 architecture. It requires a Shopify plan that supports Online Store themes (Basic and above). It is not compatible with Shopify Headless or Hydrogen storefronts.
What apps are recommended with Mast?
Mast works well with Klaviyo (email marketing), Okendo or Junip (product reviews), Searchie or Boost Commerce (enhanced search), and Gorgias (customer support). These are common app choices that we have tested for visual compatibility with the theme's design system.
Known limitations
These are intentional constraints or areas with known trade-offs.
No built-in product filtering by metafield
The collection filtering sidebar supports Shopify's standard filters (availability, price, tags, product type, vendor). Filtering by custom metafields requires a third-party search and filter app.
Lookbook hotspots require JavaScript
The product hotspot quick-add drawer in the Lookbook section is JavaScript-dependent. Users with JavaScript disabled will see the images without interactive hotspots.
Mega menu depth is limited to two levels
The mega menu supports one level of parent items and one level of children. Three-level deep navigation is not supported and should be restructured into a flatter hierarchy.
Cart drawer and full cart page are mutually exclusive
You can use either the cart drawer or the full cart page, not both simultaneously. The cart type setting in Theme settings determines which is active.
Video sections require hosted video URLs
Background video sections support YouTube and Vimeo embed URLs. Self-hosted video files in theme assets are not supported due to Shopify's 50 MB file size limit.
Customizing the Nocturne preset accent color
The Nocturne preset uses amber gold (#C4893A) as its accent color. Custom accent colors on dark backgrounds must be verified for sufficient contrast ratio manually, as the theme editor does not warn about contrast violations.
Version history
Mast follows semantic versioning. Patch versions fix bugs without changing settings. Minor versions add new features without breaking changes. Major versions may require updating customizations.
